TO BE ON CLOUD NINE is the state of euphoria someone may be due to a fortunate sequence of events or because the person has fallen in love.
I was on cloud nine when John asked me out.
The origin of this expression derives from Buddism. “Cloud 9” is the penultimate goal of the Bhodisattva.
