Indirect Speech

A tabela acima é bém útil para quem estiver estudando o discurso indireto (indirect speech).
Além dessas expressões temporais, é preciso prestar atenção ao uso correto dos verbos, já que os tempos em sua grande maioria também se alteram. Por exemplo:
He said, “I saw a red car yesterday”.
He said he had seen a red car the day before.
Como visto acima, a frase no discurso direto apresenta o verbo no passado simples (simple past) e ao utilizar o discurso indireto, passa-se a usar o passado perfeito (past perfect).

Sarah said, “Don’t tell me anything”.
Sarah said not to tell her anything.
He asked, “Can we go out next weekend?”
He asked if they could go out the following weekend.
